Harold Riley

Harold Riley

Born on 21st December 1934 in Salford, Riley sold his first painting to the Salford Museum and Art Gallery when he was 11 years old. He believes his main work is to document the city and his life cycle in Salford, through painting & photography. The deep affection for his home town cemented a friendship with L.S. Lowry which began when Riley was his student.
The sculpture pays tribute to Riley's art with the dog peeing on the lamppost. Emma used her pet daschund as a life model.
