Sir Ben Kingsley
Sir Ben Kingsley was born Krishna Pandit Bhanji in 1943. He is a British actor and is most known for starring as Mohandas Gandhi in the film 'Gandhi' in 1982.
Kingsley was born on 31st December 1943. His illustrious career spans over five decades with several awards and nominations including a Grammy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA Award, and an Academy Award from four nominations.
Kingsley was educated at Manchester Grammar School where one of his classmates was Robert Powell. He went on to study at De La Salle, which became home to The Ben Kingsley Theatre.
Kingsley said that, "Salford Players were totally loving and supportive, they became my family. The Stage was always my first love".
